CAPONE'S GHOSTLY PUB WALK
Gangsters, Speakeasies, Brothels, Spirits and Ghosts.
The Historical Downtown Fort Lauderdale started as a quiet community with some of the founding families in South Florida. Then Prohibition came in the 1920's. A man from Chicago came to Fort Lauderdale looking for Alcohol. Since Fort Lauderdale did not abide by the Prohibitions Rules, rum running became a very lucrative business here in South Florida. Rum Road was Scar Face's connection to the Caribbean Hooch.
Fort Lauderdale became Fort Liquiordale and this sleepy city turned into the party town we know today.
Come join us to learn the history of
Al Capone here in Downtown Fort Lauderdale and about the ghosts of the past Who are predominantly the citizens of those who worked the rough streets.
